likes to run
away from
home. But she
does it with her
husband Bob
and they never
go far from their Vermont house, often just to
the Maine coast for a day. “We take turns
driving along the back roads, have a bite to eat
when we get there, then head back, talking
the whole way,” says Melinda. A simple plan,
but Melinda credits such runaway days with
giving her the vision and creative spark to
make changes in her life. “It gives you a
chance to think about how you’re spending
your time, whether you’re doing what you
really want to do. You should try it. I mean,
when was the last time you took a day to dream?”
